Tacoma police were searching Wednesday for a gunman who robbed a West End convenience store.
The robber entered the Union 76 food mart at 1822 S. Jackson Ave. about 5:30 a.m., showed a gun and demanded cash and cigarettes, police spokesman Mark Fulghum said. The clerk handed over an undisclosed amount of money and several packs of cigarettes and the robber left on foot, Fulghum said.
A police dog searched for the robber but didn’t find him.
The robber was described as black, about age 25, 5 feet 8 inches tall and 150 pounds. He had a thin mustache and wore a white, long-sleeved T-shirt, dark pants and a white hooded sweatshirt with a black design.
