A 16-year-old Tacoma-area boy selling his car on Craigslist.org was hurt Wednesday night when he met up with two men who claimed they wanted to buy the car.
The teen met with the two potential buyers just before 11 p.m. at South 56th Street and Pacific Avenue, Tacoma police spokesman Mark Fulghum said Thursday.
The potential buyers directed the teen to a residential area near East 51st Street and McKinley Avenue. Once there, the men repeatedly kicked and punched the teen and one pulled out a handgun, Fulghum said.
A neighbor heard the commotion, came outside and asked what was going on. While the men were distracted, the teen escaped and called 911.
Paramedics responded and took the teen to Tacoma General Hospital for treatment of his injuries, Fulghum said.
Meanwhile, the two men left in the teen’s car. A police dog could not find the men.
