King County prosecutors allege a 23-year-old man used a popular networking website to stalk, harass and send sexually-explicit photos to a teenage girl.
Now detectives are concerned William Thomas Pritchard might have more victims, including in Pierce County, the King County Sheriff’s Office announced Friday.
Pritchard was charged in August with cyberstalking with sexual motivation. He is in custody and scheduled to go to trial Nov. 15 in King County, sheriff’s Sgt. John Urquhart said. He also was charged last month in Pierce County District Court with cyberstalking.
In the King County case, detectives believe Pritchard cultivated a relationship with a 17-year-old girl using MySpace and, after some time, demanded nude photos of her and threatened to harm her and her family.
Pritchard sent the girl about 30 nude photos of himself and made sexually explicit comments, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Pritchard learned the girl’s hometown and cell phone number from her MySpace page and called her 269 times from late December 2009 until the middle of March, the Sheriff’s Office reported. When he got her on the phone or reached her voice mail, Pritchard allegedly threatened the girl, detectives said.
Detectives have reviewed Pritchard’s cell phone records and believe he might have victimized other people, the office reported. Anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office at 206-296-3311.
