Air Force Reserve Airman 1st Class Tyler J. Lawrence has arrived for duty at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. Lawrence is the son of Kerry L. and Kara K. Lawrence, of Olympia, and a 2008 graduate of A.G. West Black Hills High School, Tumwater.
Army Pvt. Torin C. Aschle has graduated from basic infantry training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. He is the son of Kim Aschle of Lacey, and a 2010 graduate of Timberline High School.
Chanceton C. Scott-Bennett has graduated from the Army ROTC (Reserve Officer Training Corps) Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as “Operation Warrior Forge,” at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. He is the son of Andre Bennett of Fort Benning, Ga., and Nonetha Mack of Lacey.
Stephen P. Shattuck graduated from the Army ROTC Leader Development and Assessment Course, also known as “Operation Warrior Forge,” at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The cadet is the son of David and Christine Shattuck of Lacey, and a 2007 graduate of Timberline High School.
Staff Sgt. Christopher B. Waiters of the U.S. Army was honored with the Grateful Nation Award by the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs (JINSA) at a dinner in Washington, D.C. for his superior conduct in the War on Terrorism. Waiters and his family make their home in Lacey.
Navy Petty Officer 2nd Class Roger S. Cleaves, son of Robin and Alfred Cleaves of Olympia, recently reached the midway point of his deployment in support of anti-piracy in the Pacific region.
