Two people were killed and two others seriously injured early Sunday morning when three vehicles collided on state Route 516 in Kent.
A 40-year-old Renton man is being investigated on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter in the accident.
The State Patrol said alcohol and possibly drugs are believed to have played a role in the crash, which occurred about 3:15 a.m. in the westbound lanes just west of Meeker Street. It is unclear what caused the accident.
Troopers said the driver of a Chevrolet Malibu lost control of her car and began heading east in the westbound lanes and collided with a Honda Civic. A Honda Passport traveling in the same direction then hit the Malibu.

Killed were 24-year-old Amanda Berman, a Yakima woman driving the Malibu, and Jose Cuellar, 57, a Kent man behind the wheel of the Passport.
A 28-year-old Fife man who was riding in the Malibu was seriously injured.
The Renton man who is being investigated was not wearing a seat belt and was critically injured when his car struck the Malibu, according to the State Patrol.
