Seattle police were searching for a taxicab that drove away after a man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run.
Police spokeswoman Renee Witt said the man was trying to get into a taxicab early Sunday and that the passengers inside closed the door on him as the taxicab was pulling away.
The man jumped onto the trunk of the taxicab but slid off and began running next to it. Witnesses told police it was unclear whether he was being dragged intentionally or got hung up on the taxicab and was being carried along.
The man fell from the taxi and landed on his head, sustaining major head trauma.

Police say the taxicab did not stop or slow for the victim.
