A 24-year-old man who was struck by a car Wednesday night in the 3300 block of Pacific Avenue remained in serious condition at Providence St. Peter Hospital, a nursing supervisor said Saturday.
Karsten G. Morgan’s sister, Stephanie Estrada of Tumwater, said Morgan still was heavily sedated, had multiple fractures and had a tube down his throat to help him breathe. He was being restricted from movement to prevent further damage, she said during a phone call Saturday to The Olympian.
Still, there were some encouraging signs , Estrada said.
His brain injuries are minor, “which is extremely good,” she said, and he was responding well to certain kinds of tests that check for feeling and reflexes, such as having his feet touched. Despite the signs of progress, Morgan was not awake and talking, Estrada said.
The crash was under investigation, and anyone with information is asked to call Olympia police officers Bryan Wyllie or Rob Beckwell at 360-753-8300.
