A man was struck by a vehicle and injured Sunday morning in an Auburn parking lot.
Firefighters from the Valley Regional Fire Authority, along with King County Paramedics, were called around 5:55 a.m. Sunday to a report of a pedestrian hit by an automobile in the 900 block of Auburn Way South .
The Auburn Police Department said a 66-yearold man was loading items into his car in a parking lot when a vehicle traveling northbound on Auburn Way South failed to negotiate a curve and entered the lot. The man was hit by the vehicle and sustained serious injuries.
“The pedestrian was found laying near the entrance to the Donut Star when firefighters arrived,” Kevin Olson of the Valley Regional Fire Authority said in a news release.

The victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center. The Valley Regional Fire Authority said his injuries are not life-threatening.
The driver of the vehicle that hit the man was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault. “It is believed that the suspect was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs,” the Auburn Police Department said in a news release.
The incident remains under investigation by Auburn Police.
