A three-car collision on northbound Interstate 5 late Sunday morning near DuPont backed up traffic for four miles to the Nisqually River Bridge, according to the state Department of Transportation and the Washington State Patrol.
The collision, which occurred about 11:25 a.m., blocked the two left lanes near Center Drive. Drivers were able to make it through the area using the right lane, according to the DOT.
Patrol dispatch said aid was called but it is unknown if there were any injuries.
The vehicles were cleared from the roadway by noon and the two lanes were reopened to traffic.
