A 40-year-old man was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital on Sunday morning after crashing his bicycle into a minivan near the intersection of Fourth Avenue East and Boundary Street East, according to Olympia police.
The bicyclist was traveling downhill on the sidewalk on Fourth Avenue about 10:45 a.m. when he struck the side of the vehicle, which was stopped on Boundary Street, said Olympia police officer Rob Beckwell.
He sustained a laceration on his face, but his injuries are not life-threatening, said Olympia police Sgt. Paul Johnson.
After preliminary investigation, the cyclist appears to be at fault, Johnson said.
