The Thurston County Coroner's Office has scheduled an autopsy for Monday to help identify the man whose body was found early Saturday on a beach south of Rotary Park.
The body was discovered by a kayaker about 10 a.m. in the 700 block of West Bay Drive, according to Olympia police.
The body is that of a white male, thought to be in his late 20s to early 30s, with a medium build, brown hair, blue eyes and a short-cropped beard. He was wearing layers of clothing, which suggests he might have been a transient, Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock said Saturday.
The man did not have identification on him, and there were no apparent signs of trauma, Warnock said. The body likely will be identified from fingerprints, he said.

The body might have been in the water less than 24 hours, Olympia police officials said.
