Lakewood police are searching for a woman they believe set up a robbery that turned deadly earlier this year.
Pierce County Superior Court Judge Frank Cuthbertson issued a warrant Tuesday for Kisha L. Fisher’s arrest. Fisher, 36, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Lenard Masten.
Masten, 39, died Jan. 16 after being gunned down on the sidewalk outside an apartment complex in the 5500 block of Chicago Avenue Southwest.
Prosecutors say two men – Mario M. Steele and Corey Trosclair – attacked Masten, intending to rob him. Masten was shot during the confrontation.
Steele, 35, and Trosclair, 41, have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder. They’ve pleaded not guilty. Steele is jailed in lieu of $500,000 bail; Trosclair in lieu of $1 million bail.
Steele told detectives that Fisher, his live-in girlfriend, suggested the men rob Masten and that she called the victim to set up a meeting, court records show.
“(Fisher) had previously dated Masten and knew he was a drug dealer,” prosecutors wrote in court papers. “Additionally, she was mad at him because he had spread rumors about her being a prostitute.”
Fisher knew she would get a cut of any proceeds from the robbery, court records show.
“(Fisher) and Steele made a $1,000 back rent payment the day after the murder,” the records state.
