An Olympia woman was hospitalized Sunday morning after driving her car the wrong way on Interstate 5 and striking a pickup truck, according to the Washington State Patrol.
About 4:30 a.m., Dolores Bussabarger, 78, drove a 2004 Chevrolet Impala onto the highway using the Trosper Road offramp and hit a pickup heading south in the far right lane, according to the WSP.
The two right lanes were blocked until crews cleared the scene about 6 a.m.
Bussabarger was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital and likely will be charged with negligent driving, according to troopers.
The 22-year-old Olympia woman whose 2008 Toyota pickup was struck by the wrong-way driver was treated at the scene, according to the patrol.
Both vehicles were destroyed.
A third vehicle struck debris from the wreck and was damaged, but none of the four people in the car, including a 4-year-old boy and 2-week-old girl, were injured.
