The Olympia Police Department is looking for the person or people who set a toilet paper roll on fire Tuesday at Pints & Quarts in the Westfield Capital mall, closing the restaurant and causing extensive smoke and water damage.
Olympia police are investigating the fire as arson and are reviewing surveillance footage to identify a suspect or suspects, Officer Jason Winner said.
Firefighters were dispatched at 5:30 p.m. after receiving reports of smoke in the restroom, Olympia Assistant Fire Chief Rob Bradley said. The fire ignited the outer plastic of the toilet paper cover, causing heavy smoke, Bradley said. Firefighters ran a hose into the restroom.
Scott McKinney, an owner of Pints & Quarts, said he intends to have the damage fixed and reopen as soon as possible. No one was hurt.
