A 56-year-old man shot and killed his live-in girlfriend Sunday at their Roy home before turning the gun on himself with four children present, according to the Pierce County Sheriff's Department.
The apparent homicidesuicide occurred about 1 p.m. in the 4100 block of state Route 702 East.
Four children ranging in age from 10 to 15 were inside the home at the time of the shooting and may have witnessed the violence, sheriff’s spokesman Ed Troyer said.
The Medical Examiner’s Office has not identified the man or his 46-year-old girlfriend. Troyer said detectives were interviewing the kids to determine what led up to the shooting.
