Police have arrested a 28-year-old man in connection with an Amber Alert that was issued Monday night for a missing 8-year-old Federal Way girl.
The arrest was made after a retail store employee saw the Amber Alert and recognized the child and a man she was with, according to police. By the time police arrived, the pair had left. The employee had an Amber Alert application on her smartphone, police said.
The Amber Alert, which was issued shortly after 7 p.m., said the girl last was seen by her mother at 6:30 p.m. at Federal Way’s Olympic View Elementary School . The alert was canceled when the child walked up to her home several hours later.
