A semitrailer driver was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving early Tuesday after overturning his truck and spilling chocolate wine along a Sumner street.
The accident happened about 1:50 a.m. at 24th Street East and 142nd Avenue East. About noon, two tow trucks pulled the semi upright, which temporarily blocked traffic.
No one was hurt, but the wreck toppled a stop sign and a light pole.
“The truck odometer had 29 miles on it,” city spokeswoman Carmen Palmer said. “It was a brand-new truck.”
It was unclear where the truck was heading, but officials said the driver barely traveled a mile before overturning.
The state Department of Ecology was called to the scene. Little wine spilled, and the cargo was lifted off the truck before it was pulled upright.
