Since the passing of Initiative 1183 (alcohol privatization), the number of stores selling alcohol has almost quadrupled, making sales to minors more difficult to monitor. The Tenino/Bucoda Community Coalition and Rainier Community Cares will work with the Tenino Police Department to conduct alcohol purchase surveys in these communities, according to a news release from Together.
The purpose of the surveys is to educate community business owners on the importance of reducing access to alcohol by minors.
The surveys will be conducted next week.
