A police fundraiser to benefit Special Olympics raised money to sponsor more than seven athletes.
This year’s “Tip a Cop” fundraiser was held Oct. 12. Thurston County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted in greeting diners at Red Robin to support Special Olympics. Tips the deputies received will go directly to Special Olympics to provide training and competition opportunities for athletes with special needs. The event raised $4,580.
Special Olympics Washington athletes compete for free. It costs $650 to support one athlete for a full year of competition.
