Military families and retirees will have the opportunity this week to talk with a federal commission charged with advising lawmakers on changes to the compensation offered to members of the armed forces.
The Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission will meet Thursday and Friday at the Eagles Pride clubhouse in DuPont. A town hall meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at French Theater on Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
The sessions at the clubhouse will begin at 8:30 a.m. Senior military commanders are to address the commission Thursday, followed by a discussion incorporating family readiness groups. On Friday, the commission will turn its attention to the Washington National Guard at 8:30 a.m. Another session on retention and recruiting will follow at 10:30 a.m.
