SCJ Alliance, a transportation planning, civil engineering and land-use planning business in Lacey, now employs about 60 following its merger with another Northwest company.
SCJ has joined forces with Project Groundwork, a site design and landscape architecture business with offices in Seattle and Wenatchee. Project Groundwork will now be known as “Project Groundwork, an SCJ Alliance studio.”
SCJ also has an office in Wenatchee, but SCJ’s employees will move into the Project Groundwork office in that city, said Pam Folsom, spokeswoman for SCJ Alliance. SCJ also has offices in Vancouver, Wash., Boise and Westminster, Colo.
SCJ has done work for the Tumwater brewery site, the Port of Tacoma, WinCo Foods and the High Roller in Las Vegas, described as the “world’s largest observation wheel.”
Project Groundwork’s portfolio includes the Crescent Bar recreation area master plan near the Gorge Amphitheater and other projects in Wenatchee and across the river in Douglas County.
