Troy Nichols is the new executive officer of Olympia Master Builders, the trade association announced Tuesday.
Nichols will start in August. He previously was the director of policy development for the Washington State House Republican Caucus.
Nichols replaces Laura Worf, who led OMB for the past seven years and guided it through the recession.
“The recession hit homebuilders especially hard, but hopefully the worst is behind us,” Nichols said in a statement. “It is truly a privilege to be able to advocate for this fantastic group, and I’m looking forward to fighting on their behalf to create jobs and grow our local economy.”
OMB past president Mark Shaffer chaired the selection committee, while the candidate search was facilitated by a division of Express Employment Professionals called the specialized recruiting group.
“I'm excited for this new chapter at OMB to begin," Shaffer said in a statement.
Formed in 1959, OMB provides services in five counties: Thurston, Lewis, Grays Harbor, Pacific and Mason.
