A man, thought to be in his late 20s or early 30s, was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Sunday evening after he crashed on Pacific Avenue. He also might have been involved in an earlier incident, police said.
According to Lacey police Sgt. Terence Brimmer:
Just after 6 p.m. Sunday, Lacey officers and Lacey Fire District 3 personnel responded to a single-vehicle accident in the 6300 block of Pacific Avenue Southeast. The vehicle had left the road and struck a tree, resulting in serious injury to the driver. The man is thought to have been driving under the influence because an open container was found in the vehicle, Brimmer said.
At the Pacific Avenue crash scene, Brimmer said, another driver showed up and told police that the injured man had recently struck their vehicle on Kinwood Street Southeast and had driven away at a high rate of speed.
The crash victim’s name and hometown were not immediately available.
