An off-duty Joint Base Lewis-McChord soldier was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle on Saturday night after he was struck by a car while riding his motorcycle, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
A little after 7 p.m. Saturday, the driver of a Suzuki Samurai crashed into the soldier aboard his motorcycle on Old Pacific Highway. The driver then fled the scene but was later identified and detained and is thought to have been arrested, Lt. Cliff Ziesemer said.
The motorcyclist was later flown to Harborview with life-threatening injuries, he said.
No other information was immediately available.
