The body of a man who was found in Lacey last week near Sleater-Kinney Road has been identified as David L. May, 60, according to Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock.
May was identified from fingerprints, he said. A place of residence was not immediately known.
The cause of death also is pending a toxicology report, which he is expected to receive in eight to 10 weeks, Warnock said.
May was found about 11 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 18, when Lacey Police were dispatched to a grass- and tree-covered hill between the freeway and the McDonald’s restaurant on Sleater-Kinney Road.
Once there, they found the body of a partially clothed man who possibly was a transient, Sgt. Terence Brimmer said.
The cause of death was unknown, although there were no obvious signs of foul play, he said.
The area where the body was found also showed signs of having been used as a day camp, Brimmer said.
