Twitter user @PigeonFudge asked The Olympian: “What’s being built in front of Best Buy on the westside? It looks like a new Intercity bus station, but that can’t be right.”
The construction is actually part of the Promenade Pathway Project, according to Kayla Waldron, marketing director for Capital Mall. The project is slated for completion this spring.
The pathway will provide a covered link between Best Buy at the mall and the collection of shops and restaurants on the north side of Mall Loop Drive in west Olympia. Waldron said the project is one of several upcoming mall upgrades, which also include include free wi-fi, device charging stations and new common area seating.
