Thurston County residents can celebrate Arbor Day, March 28, with a series of volunteer opportunities and events in Olympia — including tree planting, invasive plant removal, a tree tour and a downtown celebration.
Grass Lake Refuge 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Remove invasive species and plant native trees. Meet at the Kaiser entrance. Park along Kaiser Road, Sixth Avenue, or at the Westwood Baptist Church.
Priest Point Park 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Remove English ivy near the mouth of Mission Creek and plant native trees and shrubs. Meet at Shelter Four near the playground.
