Emily Hamack was crowned Miss Thurston County 2015 on Sunday, winning the pageant this year after finishing second place in last year’s pageant.
Hamack, 22, a self-described “west Olympia girl,” graduated from Northwest Christian High School in Lacey in 2011. She is a student at South Puget Sound Community College.
For her victory, Hamack won a $5,000 scholarship, plus another $250 for winning Miss Congeniality. That award was bestowed on her by her fellow contestants, she said.
Up next for Hamack is to compete for the title of Miss Washington in July. If she wins that, she will compete in the Miss America pageant.
