Tenino will host a Splash Bash Family Fun Carnival on the Fourth of July to raise money for the Tenino Quarry Pool. The event will take place at Tenino City Park and Quarry Pool from noon to 5 p.m. July 4.
Among the activities will be a bounce house, face-painting, carnival games, entertainment, a raffle and food. The Tenino Fire Department will have a display and share safety tips on proper handling of fireworks.
The nearby Tenino Train Depot Museum and Ticknor School House will be open during the event.
A dunk tank will feature City Councilman John O’Callahan, former Police Chief Jim Swenson, Mayor Bret Broderson and Tenino firefighters.

The cost of admission is $3 per person or $10 per family. The admission includes entrance to the pool, but not carnival games or food.
The popular swimming pool draws visitors from throughout Thurston County and the region, but the city has struggled for a number of years to find the money to keep it running all summer.
