The Thurston County Lodging Tax Advisory Committee is accepting applications for 2016 projects.
The Lodging Tax can be used to promote tourism events and locations to area visitors. Revenue from the tax also can be used to pay for capital or operating costs for tourism-related facilities, the operation of visitor and convention agencies, and the operation and marketing of events and festivals.
Proposals must be for tourism-related services occurring in unincorporated Thurston County in 2016.
To download an application, go to co.thurston.wa.us/bocc. Applications are due no later than 5 p.m. Oct. 12. Submit the original and five copies to Rebecca Pilcher, Thurston County Courthouse Complex, Building 1, Room 269, Lakeridge Drive SW, Olympia, WA 98502.

The committee will review proposals at 2:30 p.m. Dec. 10 at the Thurston County Courthouse.
The lodging tax is paid by people who stay overnight in motels, hotels, bed and breakfast facilities, or campgrounds.
