A 22-year-old Olympia woman died Tuesday in a three-vehicle crash on northbound Interstate 5, south of state Route 512 in Pierce County.
Hannah Veres was a passenger in a 2013 Chevrolet Volt, driven by a 23-year-old Lacey man, according to Washington State Police. The Lacey man was not injured. Veres was transported to Tacoma General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. A 1-year-old child who also was a passenger in the Volt was injured and transported to Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital in Tacoma.
According to a Washington State Patrol news release:
The Volt was traveling north about 4:35 p.m. and slowed for traffic when it was struck from behind by a 1994 Chevrolet K2 pickup driven by 45-year-old Puyallup man. The impact pushed the Volt into a white Mazda driven by a 34-year-old Michigan man.
