A 40x60 foot American flag is raised by Lacey Fire District 3 and Olympia Fire Department ladder trucks at the start of the Thurston County Veterans Flag Day Ceremony Sunday at the Lacey Civic Plaza. Sponsored by the Thurston County Veterans Council and Thurston County Realtors Association,the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars organizations the event is held annually on June 14th at the Lacey Civic Plaza. Along with the flag raising the ceremony included guest speakers,Secretary of State Kim Wyman and Diane Pust, president of the Thurston County Realtors Association, and rifle salute by the VFW Post 318 Honor Guard.
