Olympia’s Priest Point Park will host the Great American Backyard Campout this weekend, offering a once-a-year opportunity to camp out in the historic city park amid its 300 acres of trees, hiking trails and beaches.
Olympia Parks, Arts and Recreation is hosting the campout, which runs from 3 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday.
There will be nature-based activities, and staff will teach campers basic camping skills, such as how to set up camp and outdoor cooking. Dinner and breakfast will be provided. Tents, sleeping bags and pads are available upon request.
