A Level 3 sex offender has registered to live in Thurston County, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Leroy E. Buck, Jr. 59, has notified the Sheriff’s Office that he will be living in the 2600 block of Scotlac Drive Southwest in Olympia.
Buck has two prior convictions for sexual offenses and another for failing to register as a sex offender.
Buck pleaded guilty in King County Superior Court in 1985 to one count of second-degree attempted rape. He was sentenced to 20 months in prison. Buck, who was then 28, sexually assaulted a mentally retarded woman in a group home where he was employed.
Eleven years later, in 1996, Buck pleaded guilty in King County Superior Court to sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl. The conviction on second-degree child molestation drew 36 months in prison.
According to the Sheriff’s Office , Buck’s offenses also include a 2001 conviction for failing to register as a sex offender.
Buck is described as a white man, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 165 pounds, with blond hair and blue eyes.
