Crews fought a fire at garage Thursday night on Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
The blaze started about 7:30 p.m. in a housing area of the base, north of the DuPont gate at Interstate 5 exit 119, JBLM spokesman John Norgren said. Crews had it contained as of about 9 p.m.
It started in a detached garage, spread to a nearby awning, and appears to have caused minor damage to an adjacent home, Norgren said.
No one was seriously injured, and no families were displaced.

What caused the fire is still being investigated.
JBLM operations said a firefighter suffered minor injuries from the blaze, and that two vehicles in the 10-car garage were damaged, one of which was totaled.
