A 38-year-old man was arrested early Friday after he allegedly led police on a 20-mile high-speed chase on Interstate 5.
Michael M. Miller appeared in Thurston County Superior Court on Friday afternoon, and a judge set bail at $5,000.
The chase started near Lacey, and the suspect reached speeds of 80 to 90 mph as he drove toward Tacoma. Law enforcement officers deployed spike strips twice, but the driver was able to avoid them. He was finally arrested at the 38th Street overpass in Tacoma after he exited the highway, according to the Washington State Patrol.
He was booked into the Thurston County Jail for eluding a police vehicle, driving under the influence and driving without a license.
