Parents: Debby and Steve Mast
Best personal achievement: (Earning the rank of) Eagle Scout
How I spend my time: Playing school sports, playing in the Jazz Band, and being involved with scouting. I have continued to swim after the season and will hopefully continue playing the baritone saxophone in a local jazz big band after high school. In my free time I hang out with my friends and enjoy going to baseball games.
Favorite subjects: Math
Favorite movie: “Without a Paddle”
Favorite book: The Artemis Fowl series by Eoin Colfer
Dream job: Announcer for the Mariners, but I will probably be a math teacher.
Someone I respect: John Theine. He is a great band director and an amazing person. I do not know anybody who works harder or puts more time into anything that they care about. John is incredible talent in such a variety of ways that he is in an inspiration for me to continue working hard and hopefully make a similar difference in others lives.
College I’d like to attend: I will be attending St Martin’s University to study mechanical engineering.
Someone famous I’d like to meet: All the men and women serving our county overseas. They are the reason I have the opportunities that I enjoy every day of my life.
Someday, looking back on my life I’d like to be able to say: That I have made a difference in someone’s life.
Biggest challenge facing teenagers today: Staying focused and true to their beliefs.
One thing in the world I would change if I could: I would give more people the opportunity to learn about the outdoors and how technology has changed our lives.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years: In a high school classroom teaching math and going to the pool after school to coach the swim team.
