Last week, The Blazer, Timberline High School's student newspaper, was named a winner of a Pacemaker Award by the National Scholastic Press Association.
Twenty-eight school newspapers nationally and in London were named Pacemaker winners this year. Timberline was classified in the category for newspapers of 17 pages or more. According to the National Scholastic Press Association, judges look for depth of coverage and content, quality of writing and reporting, leadership on the opinion page, evidence of in-depth reporting, layout and design and photography, and art and graphics.
Nathan Morr was the editor of The Blazer in 2008-09, and the newspaper adviser is Dan Hardebeck.
