School: Yelm High School.
Parents or guardians: Eric Heid and Wendy Wilson-Heid.
Best personal achievement: I take pride in maintaining a 4.0 thus far into the second semester of my senior year, and I’m working hard to be the class valedictorian.
How I spend my time: I try to spread my time among a lot of different activities to stay busy. I’m the vice president in the Yelm FFA chapter, I am also the Yelm National Honor Society president. Even though these things do take time, they have definitely been worth it since I have gained many skills I wouldn’t have obtained otherwise. Through the FFA I’m also involved in “Project Tornado: Destroying Bad Driving Habits.” This activity has been really life-changing and has impacted our community and my peers in a positive way.
I played No. 1 doubles on the high school varsity tennis team this year, and of course I spend a lot of time on schoolwork. It’s been very important to me to excel in school since I was in elementary. I pride myself in my hard work I put into my classes. I also enjoy going to church on Sundays and spending time with friends, and I am an avid moviegoer.
Favorite subjects: Calculus and physics.
Favorite movie: “Remember the Titans.”
Favorite book: “The DaVinci Code” by Dan Brown.
Dream job: Professional tennis player.
Someone I respect: My dad.
The hardest part of being a student is: Time management and distractions.
My ambitions or career aspirations include: Working as an engineer at a sporting goods company and developing advanced sports equipment.
Someone famous I would like to meet: Roger Federer.
Someday, looking back on my life, I’ll be able to say: “I took advantage of the opportunities that I had and enjoyed life through a strong Christian faith.”
Biggest challenge facing teenagers today: The Internet. It’s time-consuming, and nothing is private anymore.
One thing in the world I would change if I could: Give everybody the opportunity to have access to clean water. It’s vital to living, and the fact that not everybody has clean water is very sad.
