Three freshmen and three sophomores from Pope John Paul II High School in Lacey will compete in the National History Bowl on April 16-17 in Washington, D.C.
According to a news release from the school: The students placed second in the junior varsity bracket during the first State History Bowl, held March 19 in Snoqualmie. Also, one sophomore and one freshman advanced individually to the semifinals in the History Bee.
The national competition will take place at various sites of historic interest in the nation’s capital.
The school has established a fund to help students who might otherwise be unable to afford the trip. Contributions can be made by calling 360-483-7600.
