South Sound residents may hear an artillery exercise at Joint Base Lewis-McChord this week and next that could involve some late-night explosions.
One of the base’s two units with Howitzer cannons is conducting a training event that likely will include sporadic morning and daytime firing through Thursday.
It’ll begin again on Tuesday, June 16 and continue through the next night. Some firing may occur overnight next week.
