Under the Dome: Today is the fifth day of the 60-day legislative session

Today in the Legislature: House Bill 2143, legislation that would prohibit anyone from producing genetically modified finfish in state waters and require the labeling of genetically engineered salmon or salmon products, will be heard in the House Committee on Agriculture and Natural Resources. Rep. Cary Condotta, R-East Wenatchee, sponsored the legislation, which will be heard at 1:30 p.m. in Hearing Room C of the John L. O’Brien Building. The Senate Law and Justice Committee will take testimony on Senate Bill 6024, legislation that aims to prevent flash mob thefts. Sponsored by Rep. Steve O’Ban, R-Tacoma, the legislation will be heard at 8 a.m. in Hearing Room 2 of the John. A. Cherberg Building.
