Democratic Rep. Sam Hunt of Olympia has a quick response for those who question why the state Legislature needs the overtime period that began yesterday to finish its work.
"People ask us about not finishing in 105 days. I ask them when the (Boeing) 787 will be sold," Hunt told The Olympian's editorial board today.
I have a story in the works for tomorrow's print editions about observations that Hunt and fellow 22nd Legislative District Rep. Chris Reykdal of Tumwater shared with the editorial board today. Among them is what might keep them from voting for the budget (hint: cutting cost of living COLAs for retirees is not the answer).
Sen. Karen Fraser, D-Thurston County, was locked up chairing a meeting of the Senate Democratic Caucus and missed the post-session discussion.
I'll have more later.
