The Senate unanimously approved Senate Bill 5088 Wednesday, which would require the Department of Natural Resources to use laser technology to identify and map geological hazards like landslides.
THURSDAY AND FRIDAY IN THE LEGISLATURE
Many committees plan to meet Thursday and Friday as lawmakers try to move bills before Friday’s deadline for bills to pass out of fiscal committees.
Committee agendas were not yet available Wednesday, but meeting both days are the transportation committees, the House Appropriations Committee and the Senate Ways and Means Committee.

The Asian Pacific Islander Coalition of Washington State is organizing a gathering at the Capitol Thursday that is expected to draw up to 2,500 people. A rally at the Flag Circle is planned at 10:30 a.m.
The Washington Chapter of the American Massage Therapy Association is also holding Massage Awareness Day at the Capitol. The event is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Legislative Building.
