Patty Murray, Dino Rossi and independent groups have been taking the Senate campaign to the airwaves for months. Now the political parties are adding to the effort to sway TV-watching voters.
Senate Democrats' and Senate Republicans' political committees are airing their first Washington State ads today, one attacking Rossi, the other Murray.
The GOP ad is more of what we've been hearing for months, criticizing Murray's "reckless spending," including votes for the health care overhaul, bank bailout and stimulus package.
The Democrats' ad feels straight out of one of Rossi's campaigns for governor. Democrats are leaving aside for now their attacks on Rossi's business ties and conservative positions on federal issues, and focusing on his budget cuts in Olympia.
