The Snohomish County sheriff’s office says that a deputy who fatally shot a man last week at a highway truck weigh station was also involved in a deadly police shooting in July.
The 33-year-old deputy shot and killed 39-year-old Shawn Larson of Snohomish after a confrontation Aug. 6. Sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover says Larson had a handgun zip-tied and taped to his hand.
The Herald of Everett reports that on July 2, the same deputy responded to a domestic dispute in Arlington. Authorities say he and another deputy were confronted by a man with a gun. Both deputies opened fire. Dwight Monnie, 64, died later in a hospital.
Hover said Thursday that her department was not releasing the name of the deputy, who is on paid leave.

A multi-agency task force is investigating the shootings.
