Power was knocked out for hundreds of customers in Thurston County on Saturday afternoon as wind gusts picked up in the area.
One of the biggest outages was reported at about 3:45 p.m. in Olympia’s South Capitol neighborhood and in homes around Olympia High School, affecting more than 1,000 customers, according to Puget Sound Energy.
An additional 971 customers south of Yelm in the Lawrence Lake area lost power at about 1:45 a.m., according to the utility.
As of 4:30 p.m., neighborhoods reporting smaller outages included Boston Harbor, Johnson Point, Homann Park in Lacey, 93rd Ave. SE and Pattison Lake.
