Anniversary: Jones 50thLen and Shirley Jones of Lacey celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 26th, 2008. Len, of Longview, Washington, and Shirley, of Forest, Mississippi, met on May 18, 1958 while both were serving in the U.S. Navy in Long Beach, California. After a brief two and one-half months courtship, they were married in Long Beach and lived in California, Alaska and Florida while Len completed twenty years of active military service. After his retirement from the Navy, they relocated to Lacey in 1976. Both completed their education at The Evergreen State College. Len retired in 1992 from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard where he was a Quality Assurance Specialist and Shirley retired from the Defense Commissary Agency in 1995 where she had worked as an auditor.

Anniversary: Johnson 75th
Clifford and Lillie Johnson of Olympia will celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary at an open house at their daughter’s home on Sunday, August 24th, 2008. Cliff and Lillie were married September 23, 1933 in Montesano. They have lived at a variety of places in South Dakota and Washington. Their last 50 years in Tumwater and Lacey.

Wedding: Eastabrook - Gregg
Lori Eastabrook and Arthur (Art) Gregg, both of Olympia, are happy to announce their marriage which took place on June 20, 2008, in beautiful Negril, Jamaica. The ceremony took place on the beach and the couple enjoyed a two-week stay at Sandals Negril Beach Resort and Spa.

Engagement: Miller - Oxley
Eddie and Donna Miller are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Rochelle Diane Miller, to Richard Dryer Oxley, son of Terry and Gail Oxley. Both the bride and groom to be are 2000 graduates of Tumwater High School. Rochelle is a 2006 graduate of Portland State University and is employed by Nercus. Richard is a student at Portland State University and is employed by the Daily Vanguard and interns for the Portland Tribune. They will wed on Sept. 6, 2008.

Kermit DeWall and Kathleen Layton were married August 7th, 1958 in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They lived in Utah and Idaho until 1970 when they moved to Olympia, WA, where they currently reside.

Anniversary: Beebe 50th
Terry and Myrna Beebe celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on August 2, 2008. The couple were guests of honor at a surprise gathering on July 20, 2008 arranged by their children and grandchildren at the Thurston County fairgrounds. Many family and friends were in attendance to wish them many more years of happiness.

Curt and Liz Eaton of Olympia will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, July 13, 2008. Curt and Liz married July 13, 1958 in Tenino. They have lived most of their married years in Tumwater. Curt is a retired meat-cutter, having a long career at Southgate Market. Liz retired from Tumwater School District spending the majority of her career at Peter G. Schmidt Elementary.
