We have an election coming up in Thurston County, right before Valentine’s Day. It’s on Feb. 13, and you should have received your ballot already. Get your ballot in on time, and then celebrate on Feb. 14 by wearing red and eating chocolate, knowing you have been a great citizen!
Measures on this ballot include the City of Olympia’s Proposition 1, The Home Fund to support housing for the homeless; Olympia Schools Technology and Capitol Projects Replacement Levy; and if you live in Yelm, the Yelm Community Schools Proposition 1 to rebuild and renovate schools. These are all important issues that need your vote.
You can mail your ballot in, or pop it in a ballot drop box. Drop box locations are listed in the Voter’s Pamphlet. The League of Women Voters Thurston County wishes you a Happy Voting Day and a Happy Valentine’s Day!
(Dickason is president of the League of Women Voters Thurston County)
