I have followed the articles related to the financial problems at Capital Playhouse.
I have also followed coverage of Jeff Kingsbury. We know he screwed up financially. I will agree that he doesn’t keep his opinions to himself. I know people weren’t happy with him because he decided to follow a direction he thought was best for Olympia, but he wasn’t the only one.
And he did an undercover job for the police and made the mistake of telling people.
Instead of being praised, he was lambasted over and over. The Olympian repeated those things every time your printed an article about Capital Playhouse.
Never miss a local story.
I will agree that he has a majority of the responsibility for the current financial situation. I’m totally blown away by the fact that it is blamed upon his desire to allow all children to participate, regardless of their financial situation.
He picked an unpopular cause (building on the isthmus). Isn’t that what politicians are supposed to do sometimes? And, he wasn’t arrested for selling drugs. He was assisting law enforcement.
Did he do and say some stupid things? You betcha.
But let’s remember the hundreds of children and members of the audience who have enjoyed Capital Playhouse and the culture he has brought to this community.
He always put his heart into it. My son was involved for over eight years with Kids in Koncert at Capital Playhouse, I’m a season ticket holder, and I have laughed with and at Kingsbury for years. We love Jeff.
